Update - 13 July 2010

Hi everyone! We would like to apologise again for the lack of updates here on the website. I'd like to go through some information that most of you would like to know about what is going on with KDA-UK.

Student Examinations
Most students are undergoing preparation to take part in the grade examinations. These examinations will happen all throughout July and hopefully we will have a list up by the start of August.

List of examinees that have passed the exams for the months late-April until June will be posted here soon.

Curriculum Update
KDA-UK's teaching Curriculum is being standardised with that of the requirements set by the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF). The changes are being made slowly so that there will be easy transition from the old lessons to the new ones.

Tournament Participation
Our club will be sending a team to the Open English Kata Championships in Wolverhampton this coming Sunday. We would like to wish all those participating the best of luck on the day!

The results for the previous tournament hasn't been posted yet but will be added soon.

Summer Schedule
Our club will be holding their regular classes this coming summer any additional or cancelled classes will be announced directly to the students.

Again, I'd like to apologise for the lack of content. But keep visiting the site to know more about our upcoming activities and news about our students.

Exam Results and Other News

We apologise for the lack of updates on the website. The last few weeks have been very hectic and eventful for us here in KDA-UK.

I have a series of news and updates for all of you who are wondering what we've been up to the past month.

First, we would like to congratulate Sensei Harvey Perez for being selected in the FEKO English National Team and competing in the 3rd European Championships for Seniors and Veterans of the World Union of Karate Federations held in Portugal from the 7th of April to 10th.

He finished in the top 16 overall in the Men's Shotokan Kata Division. Congratulations and know that KDA-UK is ready to support you all the way.

Secondly, during the same weekend a prominent figure in the karate world visited England.

His co-examiners were Sensei David Jones, member of the ISKF Technical Committee and head of ISKF Canada and Sensei Ahcene Moussaoui, head of ISKF England. The seminar was attended by Sensei Daryl Perez and our newest blackbelt, Philippe Anthon Perez.

Holiday Greetings!

For the last couple of years, KDA-UK has managed to make a name for itself as a group the performs beyond expectations and continues to show excellence in training and competitions. We, as a club, managed to gain recognition from other clubs and even get an award for our efforts in tournaments.

But without you all who continue to follow us and support us in our endeavours, this might not have been possible. We, blackbelts and instructors, thank you all from the depths of our hearts and hope that we may continue the success we've had the last two years and carry this on for years to come.

Thank you all. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Final Class and Examination for 2009

As we mentioned in our different classes, the last training day for this year 2009 will be held in 19th of December at Hadley Stadium's Main Hall (near the reception) from 9am until 12 noon. The class is open to all KDA students regardless of rank and age. This applies to all KDA clubs, so there will be no regular classes held during that day to make way for this general assembly.

On the same day we will be holding the last examination for the year. Only students that have been cleared by their respective instructors are allowed to take part in this. Make sure to practice all your lessons and review everything needed for your exam to avoid disappointment.

After the exams there will be a small event open to all KDA students and their families. Details are available from your instructors.

We will also announce when we will be resuming practice come January so be sure to take note of this.

We wish you all good luck and hope to see you on the 19th!

No adult class this Friday

Due to some circumstances with the use of the hall, we will not be having the adult class this coming Friday, December 11, at Saltley Leisure Centre.

However, those students taking the classes are welcome to attend the regular class held on Saturday morning from 9am to 11am. This way you do not lose a week's worth of training by missing the class.

Also, we are still accepting students for the Adult Class! The Adult Class involves the standard KDA curriculum and also some basic self defence for your own protection. Please refer to the previous post on the details about the class.

Thank you.
